The Association of Sealed Glass Unit Producers brings together owners of small and medium-sized companies involved in the manufacture of sealed glass units.
The aim of the Association is to conduct public activity to aid the economic development of associated members, to promote the quality of Polish products and initiate mutual collaboration between companies while respecting the principles of competitiveness.
Despite the relatively brief presence of the Association in the market, it has made great strides towards raising production quality of sealed units.
In order to guarantee the quality of their products, associated companies freely submit to the Association’s internal audit. The audits check the Company Quality Control documentation, which has been specially prepared to meet the needs of the firms, they carry out tests on the end products in the factories using the mobile laboratory equipment which is a feature of the Association, as well as examining the working environment.
Of course, it’s up to the company owners what they decide to do with the knowledge gained during the audit. It turns out, though, that the specific proposals for improving and solving production problems are rapidly introduced and bring measurable benefits to the companies.
Also, being part of the Association, producers can test component compatibility against the declared parameters for materials supplied by partners. After all, it’s to a large degree through the components that the high quality of the end product is guaranteed. Sadly, it’s sometimes the case that the parameters promised by the supplier don’t coincide with the results from testing. This is a real burden for producers, and that’s why the Association, together with the Institute of Glass, Ceramics, Fire-resistant and Building Materials carry out regular component testing and on their basis creates the list of recommended components.
Associated companies can also take advantage of our advisory service in the areas of production, products, company management, applicable laws as well as marketing for small and medium-sized companies, which we aim to pay special attention to in the immediate future.
Being aware that the flow of knowledge within the branch to small and medium-sized companies is limited, the Association organises meetings and conferences to meet the needs of the businesses.
The last conference took place in May 2009 in Pątnów and generated a lot of interest, not only thanks to the lectures, but also, due to the great fun we had, we found… “A recipe for success!” And the greatest success was the response we got after the conference both from associated companies as well as across the branch.
In response to a perceived need, in June 2009 we organised further meetings around the subject of marketing programmes and the benefits to be gained from introducing them into your company.
In October 2009 we held training workshops for managers as well as jointly participating in the trade fair in Milan. We have further ideas how to help associated companies establish a better market position, if only by participating in programmes such as Trap Heat.
Come and take active part in the Association’s activities. We’ll be delighted to welcome new companies into the fold.
